Erasing with Water

Purpose:  This activity allows children to practice their letters and watch them disappear. They will happily practice writing their letters just so they can watch them fade away. Some children may initially be fearful of writing letters with pencil and paper and this activity allows them to feel more secure as they write.

Materials/Advance Preparation:

Directions:

  1. With chalk, write letters, numbers, or words for the children to practice on the chalkboard.

  2. Have the children dip their brush in the water and "erase" what you have written by painting over it with the water.
