Name Bingo

Purpose:  Using children's names in teaching letter recognition is very helpful.  Once the children recognize the letters of their own names they often begin to learn the letters in their friends' names.

Materials/Advance Preparation:

Directions:

  1. Help each child (as necessary) to write his or her name on a piece of paper.*
  2. Hold up one of the flash card letters.
  3. Child who have that letter in their names cross the letter out.
  4. The game is over when all of the letters in all of the names are crossed out.
  5.

*Note: You may want to write all of the names in upper case letters and use upper case flash cards so that they are exact matches.
