Did You Know That...

Early education leaders identify features of effective programs?

In 1998, two national associations put together a short statement about what to look for to determine whether of early childhood programs are likely doing a good job. They include a list of features for each of the following:

  1. a good curriculum
  2. the way the program assesses the progress its children are making
  3. how the program evaluates itself

The two associations are the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Education (NAECS/SDE). For the full statement, go here.
